While Director of Exhibitions for Gallery 1.1.1. at the University of Manitoba’s School of Art, George Swinton organized the first solo exhibition of works by an Inuit artist, Tiktak (Tittak) from Rankin Inlet. The show, which featured 50 works from collections across Canada, was held at Gallery 1.1.1. at the Faculty of Art at the University of Manitoba in 1970.
